THE VALUE OF A GOOD TRANSLATION
Translating your work, commercial material, or informational content is an important step toward its growth. Translating a text into the language of the audience you want to reach allows you to communicate with them more effectively and fluently, increasing your chances of success. At Letras Propias, we cover a wide range of translation services in Spanish, Catalan, and English (in any language pair).
Literary translations, whether for the work of professional writers or amateurs, allow your story to reach a wider audience and can help you identify differences in how a particular genre or text is received across different language communities.
Translating your website or app helps your company rank higher in search engines and establish a presence in foreign markets that may present opportunities for your business. It also offers a more accessible and pleasant browsing experience to users who feel more comfortable in that language, which has a direct impact on conversion and return rates.
Business translations (catalogs, brochures, annual reports, etc.) reflect professionalism and attention to detail. They show that the company cares about communicating with its customers, shareholders, and stakeholders beyond simply making a profit.
Similarly, informational translations for museums, events, or exhibitions highlight a commitment to making visitors and participants feel comfortable and included in the experience or activity they are taking part in, removing communication barriers that might get in the way of their enjoyment.
The rise of automated translation often leads people to think that «manual» translation isn’t necessary, or doesn’t offer enough of a quality advantage to justify the investment. However, this kind of translation is nothing more than a stopgap tool that, at best, gives a general idea of the text. It isn’t the product of professional work aimed at achieving effective communication with your reader, so that they do not feel like they are in unfamiliar territory. A machine-translated text will never sound natural to a native speaker of that language and can lead to misunderstandings that cannot be reconciled.
The best translation is one that doesn't read like a translation.

REQUEST A QUOTE FOR YOUR TRANSLATION
To request a translation quote, fill in the form or send us an email at info@letraspropias.com attaching the full text and specifying which language you’d like it translated into.
Tips for getting your translation at the best price:
- Provide the text in an editable document (Word or similar). This means we can get started as soon as we receive your work, without needing to convert formats.
- If the original is in a non-editable format, it will need to be processed first, at an additional cost.
- Send us the whole text at once so we can give you the best quote, get a full picture of the job, and offer you a 100% guaranteed delivery date.
- If you can’t send us the full text yet, please let us know the approximate word count and type of text, and we’ll give you an indicative quote.
- Make sure the original text is of good quality. It’s faster and more effective to translate a text that has already been proofread by a professional and is free of spelling, typographical, and style errors.
- Uncorrected texts, or those with a significant number of errors that hinder a smooth translation, will incur an additional charge.
- Translations do not include changes to the content or structure of the original text.
- If you have a deadline, let us know so we can confirm we’re able to meet it. We want to give each text the time it deserves.
- Don’t leave it to the last minute! We can take on urgent translations within reasonable limits that don’t compromise the quality of the work.
